Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training

This interactive course explores techniques to prevent and respond to child abuse and provides an overview of regulations, laws, and university policies that apply to child abuse prevention and reporting. All individuals who interact with youth in Iowa State programs are strongly encouraged to complete this training. The course is available through Cy Check.

Youth Program Leader training

This training is for youth program leaders and others responsible for planning, supervising, or providing administrative support for youth programs.

  • Provides an overview of Cy Check, how to register youth programs, and how to utilize the system to track background checks and staff training.
  • Reviews applicable university policies, youth program procedures, and resources to help offer safe and successful youth programs at Iowa State.

All trainings will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Email youth@iastate.edu to schedule if no sessions are shown below or you need to make alternate arrangements.

 

 

Knowledge Sharing Sessions

Our Knowledge Sharing Sessions provide ongoing education on specific programming topics. Each 90-minute session includes a presentation with Q & A, followed by 30 minutes for further discussion or questions open to all areas of youth program policies and procedures.
