Iowa State has an agreement with an international insurance and assistance carrier to provide international travelers and travelers to US territories travel accident insurance for injuries and illnesses, security evacuation services, emergency travel assistance, and destination-specific safety and security information.

Eligibility

The program is for university-sponsored travel and is not available for personal travel. Enrollment is managed by Risk Management as part of the international travel registration required for all university-sponsored international travel.

The program also covers dependent children, spouses, and domestic partners of Iowa State employees traveling on the same trips. Coverage is not available for employees or students traveling solely for personal reasons (e.g., vacations), but does include coverage for up to 14 days of personal travel before, during, and after a sponsored trip.

The program provides coverage worldwide except for the 50 United States and Washington, DC. The program does not include trip cancellation coverage.

How to enroll

You will be enrolled in the program during international travel registration, which is required for all university-sponsored travel.
