Animals at Events
All activities or special events involving the use of live animals by student organizations must be approved by the Event Authorization Committee (EAC). The approval for animal use in activities or special events requires submission of both the Event Authorization and Notification form and the Use of Animals in Special Events form.
The Use of Animals in Special Events form must be completed and submitted to the Office of Risk Management for review prior to your presentation at the Event Authorization Committee meeting.
The use of animals in an academic or research program at Iowa State University is subject to approval through the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The institutional official is the Vice President for Research and Economic Development (Vice Provost).
